Our adventure run is a trail run, which is more challenging than a traditional road run.

Both runs use the woodland trails (in Red). The Red is the 5K (3.1 miles) run. The woodland terrain portion hard packed vehicle roads, grassy trails, dirt/mud, soft sand, and sugar sand. Some spots could be very muddy and slippery depending on the weather.

The 5 mile (8K) continues additional 3K (in Blue) to and on the Honeymoon Island north beach. The beach portion varies with beach rocks, soft shell, hard and soft sand. No portion of the course is in the surf.

Both courses are challenging. Depending on the weather or conditions on Honeymoon Island the course may be altered race day.

This is a chance to see Honeymoon Island State Park where few people venture.

The runs will go on regardless of cold, rain, or storm.

The event will take place in Honeymoon Island State Park, Sunday January 12, 2014. Combined start time time is 8:30 a.m. Check-in and registration begins about 7:00 am.

Runners will be allowed to enter Honeymoon Island about 6:00 am. Enter Honeymoon Island before 8:00 am for free admission to the park. After the park opens entry fee is $4 single or $8 two or more. Also, parking is 1/4 mile away in the North Parking lot. You will need at least 30 minutes to get from the gate, park and get to registration.
